As part of its ongoing CSR activities, MontAzure supports a local initiative to build Beach Safety Awareness amongst localchildren and their parents on Phuket.
Organized by the Phuket-Thai Life Saving Association, the programme offers a regular schedule of training days hosted at various beaches around the island. Lifeguards teach the children how to recognize if they or someone else is in danger, and how to help. Basic resuscitation techniques are introduced with CPR training providedusing manikins, and kids also learn skills such as body surfing, sand running and diving for beach flags. The training daysare conducted in Thai and English.
In January, the event took place on Kamala Beach and drew 60 children, which is the maximum number of participants. Twenty of the attending kids were from the local Kamala community and the team from MontAzure volunteered their timeto help with the training sessions and learned a few new skills themselves.
